We believe that a continuing education in the arts for people of all ages is incredibly important. Our goal is to offer a variety of classes, and to expand that programming as much as possible.

This summer we’re offering two education opportunities: Summer Theatre Camp and Next Stop: Broadway!

Summer Theatre Camp

June 23rd-27th

9am-2pm

For students ages 7-12

Cost: $100

Summer Theatre Camp
$100.00

We’ve heard your requests, and here it is: a summer day camp experience just like our spring break camp! Students will get to work on singing, dancing, acting, improv, and more! There will be a very short final performance at the very end of Friday; a chance to celebrate a week of fun and learning.

This camp will be lead by Modern Prometheans artistic director Paul Cosca.

Next Stop: Broadway!

Rehearsals July 28th-August 20th (evening rehearsals)

Performances August 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th.

For students ages 7-13

Cost: $150

Next Stop: Broadway!
$150.00

Next Stop: Broadway! is back for its second year! This show gives an opportunity for all of our students to shine. The show is made up of scenes and songs from different musicals. We have solos, duets, and even big, show-stopping group numbers! The students who were with us last year had an absolute blast, and we’re excited to bring this program back.

Rehearsals are in the evenings on weekdays, and there are four performances at the end.

This camp will be lead by Modern Prometheans artistic director Paul Cosca.

F.A.Q. for Summer Theatre Camp!

Q. How many students will be involved?

A. There are only 12 slots available for this camp.

Q. Does my student need previous theatre experience?

A. Nope! In fact, a theatre camp like this is a perfect way to try a new thing to see if they like it. Whether they go on to do more theatre or not, we do everything possible to make sure they have a good time while they are with us.

Q. What does my student need to bring?

A. They need to come dressed to move (athletic-type clothing, closed toed shoes). They need to bring a lunch and a water bottle, and that’s all. Anything else they need for instruction, they’ll be given.

Q. What is the performance?

A. All students will perform in a group song that we will work on throughout the week. At pickup time on Friday (2pm on the 27th), parents/guardians will be able to come watch this short performance. This isn’t a full performance with costumes and all that, just a showcase of the skills they’ve picked up during the week. It should take less than 5 minutes.

The performance will be filmed, so even friends and family who aren’t able to be there for it can see it later.

Q. Are scholarships available?

A. Because we are only able to accept a very limited number of students, we are not able to offer any scholarships for this spring break camp (unless a donor reaches out to us to make a donation for this). We also are not offering any sibling discounts. We always work to make our educational experiences as affordable as we possibly can, and this is no exception.

Q. Can I sponsor a student to go to the camp?

A. Absolutely! Please send an email to themodernprometheans@gmail.com and we’ll make arrangements.

Q. Why are spots so limited?

A. Our enrollment is limited by our space. We only have 19 seats in our theatre, so we don’t have space to accommodate as many students and parents as we have in the past. So if you want to get your student signed up, we definitely recommend you do it right away!

A. For performances we have the students wear all black. We suggest a black t-shirt/tank top and black shorts/leggings.
