Assassins

Rehearsals begin in mid-August. Performances run October 2nd-24th.

Synopsis:

Assassins is a one-act musical about the American Dream and the promises that have been broken. Real life would-be and successful assassins of US presidents gather to air their complaints, retell their stories, and try to find connection in the midst of nothingness. They are lead on by a mysterious carnival barker and John Wilkes Booth, the one who paved the way for them all. An all-American Balladeer helps tell their stories and reflects on how it all went so wrong. The Balladeer then becomes perhaps the most important among them: Lee Harvey Oswald. The rest push Oswald towards his destiny, trying to convince him that his act will give all of their lives meaning. Deeply political and incredibly topical, we are producing this in the run-up towards the midterm elections.
